MICRONIZED BIOCHAR

Micronized biochar is a carbon-rich material that can be added to concrete to improve its strength, durability, and environmental benefits. Biochar is made from biomass that has been pyrolyzed, or heated in low-oxygen conditions.

Benefits of micronized biochar in concrete

  • Strength: Biochar can increase the compressive and flexural strength of concrete.
  • Durability: Biochar can improve the durability of concrete, especially at high temperatures.
  • Carbon sequestration: Biochar can help reduce the carbon footprint of concrete by capturing carbon.
  • Thermal conductivity: Biochar can improve the thermal conductivity of concrete.
  • Electromagnetic shielding: Biochar can improve the electromagnetic shielding capacity of concrete.
  • Water permeability: Biochar can reduce the water permeability of concrete.

BIOCHAR CEMENT

How biochar works in concrete

  • Biochar absorbs and releases water during the curing process, which speeds up the hydration process.
  • Biochar's large surface area and high porosity help it improve the mechanical properties of cement.

How biochar is used in concrete

  • Biochar can be used as a filler in cement paste and mortar composites.
  • Biochar can be used as a substitute for cement powder in concrete mixes.
